I am keen to support students, whatever their starting point, with or without English as an additional language or learning difficulties to achieve their goals academically and beyond. I believe in teaching the whole child and supporting them to achieve their dreams, whatever they might be.
From 2020 to 2023, I worked in Kyrgyzstan as the Head of the Learning Diversity and Inclusion department. During those three years, I transformed the department from a small untrained group of teaching assistants into an efficient and well-trained department. I introduced baseline reading and spelling tests across the school, collated and analyzed data to identify children needing extra help both inside and outside the classroom, and conducted whole school and departmental training sessions on many aspects of inclusive learning.
Since returning to the UK, I have consulted for the department I created and conducted online diagnostic assessments when needed to help students get the support they need in academic, social, and formal exam situations. Prior to working in Central Asia, I was a specialist Specific Learning Difficulties tutor working with students from state and private schools in England on a one-to-one basis before, during, and after school and at the weekends to boost their learning or address additional challenges they might be facing.
